Go2Africa vs Yellow Zebra 2026: Which Safari Specialist Is Better, and Which Is Cheaper

Go2Africa 89 · Yellow Zebra 87 on six published criteriaVerified 7 September 2026By Richard J.Go2Africa Affiliate

Go2Africa and Yellow Zebra are the two best-evidenced tailor-made safari specialists this site has scored, two points apart: Go2Africa 89/100 on the deepest verified review record in the category (4.9 from 3,118 Feefo reviews), itemised quotes, 24/7 support and a B Corp parent; Yellow Zebra 87/100 on 4.9 from 1,710 Trustpilot reviews, published from-prices on every itinerary, ATOL protection and eleven consecutive World Travel Awards. Go2Africa is the choice for an African office, a priced lodge line and the broadest coverage; Yellow Zebra for UK consumer protection and a published price before you enquire. Both book the same camps at the camps' own rates. Go2Africa is an affiliate of this site; Yellow Zebra is not bookable through it. The rubric is the same for both. The earlier version of this page said Go2Africa's reviews were on Trustpilot; they are on Feefo.

Is Go2Africa or Yellow Zebra better?

Go2Africa by two points, on evidence depth, an African office and a B Corp parent; Yellow Zebra on published prices and UK ATOL protection. A UK traveller booking a flight-inclusive package has a real reason to prefer Yellow Zebra; anyone else, and anyone who wants to see the lodge line before committing, has a real reason to prefer Go2Africa. On the trip itself, both book the same camps at the same rates and both will build a good one.

The two companies are the same kind of business at a similar standard. Go2Africa was founded in Cape Town in 1998, is owned by the Nawiri Group, a certified B Corp, is accredited by SATSA, and names RedPoint Travel Protection as its financial-protection partner. Yellow Zebra Travel Ltd was incorporated in Kingston upon Thames in April 2012, holds ATOL licence 10614 and is a full member of the African Travel and Tourism Association. Neither owns a lodge; both sell planning, protection and knowledge, and the specialist vs booking direct page sets out why the lodge rate underneath is the same on either.

Where they differ is legible. Go2Africa's quote arrives as lines, with the lodge rate matching the lodge's own published figure (Singita Ebony at ZAR 51,665, the lodge's low-season rate, is the test this site ran); Yellow Zebra's website shows a from-price range on every itinerary before you speak to anyone. Go2Africa's consultants are in South Africa on South African time; Yellow Zebra's are in London. Go2Africa has 3,118 verified reviews; Yellow Zebra 1,710. A reader in Britain who wants ATOL will choose Yellow Zebra and be right; a reader anywhere who wants to compare Camp A against Camp B by price will get that from Go2Africa faster.

Is Go2Africa or Yellow Zebra cheaper?

Neither, at the lodge: both book the same camps at the camps' own rates, so a like-for-like itinerary should land within a few percent on either desk. The difference is what you can see before you ask. Yellow Zebra publishes a from-price range on every itinerary, from £4,394 per person for eleven nights in Tanzania to £29,105 for 22 nights; Go2Africa shows the lodge line inside an itemised quote and sells from mid-range camps upward, so its practical entry point is at least as low. The earlier version of this page said Go2Africa "tends to have a lower entry point"; on the published evidence they are level, and Yellow Zebra's floor is the one you can read.

Yellow Zebra prices from its Tanzania itineraries and cost guide; Go2Africa's Ebony rate from its Singita Ebony page, matched in the Singita review; all read 7 September 2026. Per-night figures are this site's arithmetic. International flights, visas, tips and insurance are extra on both.

Send the same brief to both and the quotes will differ in flights, transfers, protection wording and what each consultant suggests you drop, not in the lodge line. The fee lines neither can change are on the Tanzania, Kenya and Botswana cost pages; the operator price comparison puts twelve operators on one ladder.

Which has the better reviews?

Go2Africa, by depth: 4.9 from 3,118 Feefo reviews with 173 in the past year and 106 more on SafariBookings, scoring 98/100 on this site's review evidence index. Yellow Zebra is second of eight at 91: 4.9 from 1,710 Trustpilot reviews, 97% five-star, with the newest posted the day this page was checked, and 25 on SafariBookings, exactly the corroboration threshold. Both records are clean and current; one is nearly twice as deep.

Method and bands on the safari operator review evidence index; the rating itself is excluded. Feefo reviews are invited after a verified purchase; a paid Trustpilot profile lets a company invite reviewers but not remove reviews.

The content is more useful than the count. Go2Africa's reviews name consultants and, in the minority of lower scores, describe a change of consultant mid-quote or a light-aircraft transfer that went wrong; Yellow Zebra's name consultants and camp choices that matched the brief, with the few below four stars about flights. Read the newest ten and the newest ten low scores on each; the how to verify a safari operator page has the rest of the check.

Which protects your money?

Yellow Zebra, if you are in the UK and the package includes flights: ATOL licence 10614 protects your payments and your repatriation if the company fails, by law. Go2Africa states "Complete Financial Protection" and names RedPoint Travel Protection as its partner, and is a SATSA member; that is a private arrangement rather than a statutory scheme, and the terms are not published beside the claim, so ask for the wording. Neither covers a land-only booking under ATOL; both need the protection wording in writing before a deposit.

This is the one criterion on which the two are structurally different rather than merely different in degree, and it is the one the earlier version of this page got closest to right. For what to ask for before paying, and how deposits and balances are staged at the lodges themselves, the safari deposits and payment terms page.

Which has won more?

Go2Africa, at 27 to 15 on this site's award and credentials index: B Corp certification, ninth on Travel + Leisure's 2024 World's Best list, Condé Nast Traveler Top Travel Specialists in 2024, 2025 and 2026, and the World Travel Awards' Africa's Leading Luxury Tour Operator in 2024 and 2025. Yellow Zebra's record is the longer single run: Europe's Leading Safari Tour Operator at the same awards every year from 2015 to 2025, plus Condé Nast Traveller UK listings for 2025 and 2026; the index counts the last three years. The earlier version of this page said Go2Africa's strength "shows more in reviews than awards"; its awards row is in fact the highest of the eight operators indexed.

The index weights a reader survey with a published sample above an industry vote from a partly self-entered shortlist, and links each credential to the awarding body; both rows are on the safari award and credentials index. Sources: WTA Africa 2025, WTA Europe 2025.

How to get a comparable quote from both

Send the same brief to both: dates, budget per person before international flights, the two or three things the trip must include, and who is travelling. Ask each for the quote as lines and for the protection wording. The lodge line should match; judge the rest.

Go2Africa leads on review depth (3,118 Feefo reviews against 1,710 on Trustpilot, both at 4.9), an African office and a B Corp parent; Yellow Zebra leads on published prices and UK ATOL protection. Both book the same camps at the camps' own rates.

Is Go2Africa or Yellow Zebra cheaper?

Neither at the lodge; both quote the camp's own rate. Yellow Zebra publishes from-price ranges on every itinerary, from £4,394 per person for eleven nights in Tanzania to £29,105 for 22 nights, and its cost guide puts a week at £4,000–5,000 (value), £5,000–6,000 (classic) or £10,000 and up (luxury). Neither covers a land-only booking under ATOL.
