The best eSIM for the Middle East in 2026 is Nomad eSIM on the figures read: 10 GB for 30 days cost $18.50 in the UAE on 6 October 2026, on the du network, and $25 on its regional plan covering ten countries. Airalo is the pick for the e& (Etisalat) network in the UAE at about $21, Ubigi for travellers who already carry its eSIM, and Holafly for unlimited data on one phone. One thing no eSIM changes: WhatsApp and FaceTime calls are blocked on UAE networks. This page answers the questions people ask about eSIMs for the region: the best for the Middle East and for the UAE, the lowest price, unlimited data, what works for calls, and the position in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey. Every figure carries its source and the date it was read.

Nomad eSIM for a route across several countries, at $25 for 10 GB over 30 days in ten countries; Airalo for the e& network in the UAE; Ubigi if its eSIM is already on your phone; and Holafly for unlimited data on one phone. For a single country, buy that country's plan: it costs about a quarter less than a regional one.
| Provider | Best for | UAE: 10 GB for 30 days | Regional plan: 10 GB for 30 days | Network in the UAE | Hotspot | Where it was read |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nomad eSIMPartner · 79/100 | The lowest price read; a route across several countries | $18.50 | $25, ten countries | du | Allowed | Nomad eSIM's UAE and regional pages, 6 October 2026 |
| Airalo · 81/100 | The e& (Etisalat) network with 5G | About $21 | About $32 | e& (Etisalat) | Allowed | eSIMDB listing, 6 October 2026 |
| Ubigi · 89/100 | Travellers who already have its eSIM installed | $21 to $23 | Not read | Not read | Allowed on every plan in our September reading | Ubigi's plan page, as indexed; two prices seen |
| Holafly · 66/100 | Unlimited data on one phone | Not sold; unlimited plans only | Not read | Not read | Capped at 1 GB a day | Terms from our September 2026 reading |

Price separates these less than two practical points. The first is the network: the UAE has two, e& and du, and both cover Dubai and Abu Dhabi well. The second is access. Ubigi states on its UAE plan page that its app and website cannot be reached from inside the country, so its eSIM has to be installed and activated before the flight. That is good practice with any provider here.
Nomad eSIM on price, at $18.50 for 10 GB over 30 days on the du network with hotspot use allowed; Airalo for the e& (Etisalat) network with 5G, at about $21. Both are data-only. Neither changes the rule on app calling, which is set by the network and covered further down this page.
| Plan | Nomad eSIM in the UAE | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB for 7 days | $4 | A layover or a weekend |
| 3 GB for 30 days | $8.50 | A week, with hotel Wi-Fi |
| 5 GB for 30 days | $11 | A week to ten days |
| 10 GB for 30 days | $18.50 | Two weeks, or a working trip |
| 20 GB for 30 days | $29 | A month, or a shared connection |
Two cautions. Nomad eSIM's plans must be activated within 60 days of purchase, so do not buy months ahead. And a phone locked to a home network will not accept a travel eSIM; check compatibility first. Once connected, the Dubai luxury shopping guide covers the city.
Nomad eSIM, at $18.50 for 10 GB over 30 days, followed by Airalo at about $21, Ubigi at $21 to $23, MobiMatter at $23 and Kolet at $27. Only Nomad eSIM's price was read on its own page today. The others are from eSIMDB's listing, Ubigi's indexed plan page and the comparison Ubigi publishes on it.
10 GB in the UAE · 30 days · USD
Price of 10 GB of mobile data in the United Arab Emirates over 30 days, in US dollars, for five providers. Nomad eSIM was read on its own page on 6 October 2026. Airalo is from eSIMDB's listing, Ubigi from its plan page as indexed, and MobiMatter and Kolet from the comparison Ubigi publishes. Holafly sells unlimited plans only and is not charted.
Two cautions. A comparison published by a provider tends to show the rivals it beats, so treat the second-hand prices as a guide. And the UAE is dearer than most destinations: the same 10 GB costs $12 to $16 in Spain or Japan. The 10 GB price table sets the destinations side by side.
Nomad eSIM is the only one read at source: $12 for 3 days, $18 for 5, $27 for 7 and $34 for 10, with speed reduced to 512 kbps once the daily allowance is used. Airalo lists unlimited UAE plans of 7 and 10 days and Holafly sells unlimited plans only; their UAE prices were not read. Ubigi sells no unlimited plan for the UAE, according to eSIMDB.
| Provider | Unlimited in the UAE | After the allowance | Hotspot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nomad eSIM | $12 for 3 days; $18 for 5; $27 for 7; $34 for 10 | 512 kbps | Allowed |
| Airalo | 7 and 10 days; price not read | 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day, in our September reading | Allowed, inside the daily allowance |
| Holafly | Price not read | Not published | Capped at 1 GB a day |
| Ubigi | None for the UAE | Not applicable | Not applicable |
Ten days of unlimited at $34 costs more than 20 GB for 30 days at $29, so a fixed plan is the better buy unless the phone is your only connection. What each provider's unlimited plan gives is set out in Best unlimited eSIM by country.
No. Voice and video calls on WhatsApp and FaceTime are blocked on UAE networks, and a travel eSIM uses those networks, so the block applies to it too; messages, voice notes, social media, maps and email all work normally. The rule comes from the UAE's telecoms regulator, the TDRA, which allows internet calling only through licensed services.
| Service | In the UAE | Note |
|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp messages, photos, voice notes | Works | Voice notes are the simplest substitute for a call |
| WhatsApp voice and video calls | Blocked | On every local network, eSIM included |
| FaceTime | Blocked | iMessage works |
| Botim | Works | Licensed for calls in the UAE |
| Zoom and Microsoft Teams | Reported to work | Used for business calls |
| Instagram, X, TikTok, maps, email, banking | Works | No restriction |
Many guides suggest a VPN. VPNs are legal in the UAE for legitimate purposes, but using one to reach a blocked calling service is treated as an offence under the country's cybercrime law, with fines reported at AED 500,000 to AED 2 million, as Cybernews sets out. That is a statement of the published position, not legal advice. The practical answer for a visitor is to use messages and voice notes, a licensed app, or the hotel telephone.
Nomad eSIM’s regional plan covers Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and Jordan, with the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, Morocco and Tunisia, at $25 for 10 GB over 30 days; Turkey and Oman are not on it and need their own plans. The regional plan is the one to take for a Gulf, Jordan and Egypt route. For one country, price that country's plan first.
| Country | On Nomad eSIM's regional plan | App calling | What to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| United Arab Emirates | Yes | WhatsApp and FaceTime calls blocked | Install before the flight |
| Saudi Arabia | Yes | Reported working by visitors in 2025 and 2026; no official statement found | Do not rely on it for an important call |
| Qatar | Yes | Generally reported working | Useful on a Doha stopover |
| Egypt | Yes | Works | Coverage thins in the Western Desert |
| Jordan | Yes | Works | Petra and the Dead Sea are covered; Wadi Rum is patchy |
| Turkey | No | Works | Buy before arrival; provider sites are reported blocked in the country |

Two cautions. Regional plans do not all list the same countries, so check the list on the plan page against the route; Oman and Turkey are the usual gaps. And in Turkey the regulator blocked the websites and apps of several travel eSIM companies in July 2025, according to published reports, so buy and install before landing. For a trip that continues south into safari country, the Africa safari eSIM guide takes over.

Nomad eSIM or Airalo on a fixed plan: both allow hotspot use, and a fixed plan has no daily ceiling. Holafly caps hotspot sharing at 1 GB a day. For a laptop on a working trip, 20 GB for 30 days at $29 from Nomad eSIM is the plan to price first. A video call on a laptop uses 1 to 2 GB an hour.
Nomad eSIM, bought again each 30 days: 10 GB a month comes to $55.50 over 90 days and 20 GB a month to $87. For a stay of several months, a local line from e& or du usually costs less and brings a UAE number. Nomad eSIM's add-ons start automatically when the first plan ends, so the eSIM need not be reinstalled. The sums for other destinations are in Best eSIM for a stay of a month or more.
A UAE country plan of 1 to 3 GB: $4 for 1 GB over 7 days or $8.50 for 3 GB over 30 days at Nomad eSIM. That covers Dubai International Airport, the metro and a day in the city. Buy the regional plan only if the same trip continues to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan or Egypt. How much eSIM data do you need? gives the figures by activity.
Install the eSIM at home, not at the gate in Dubai. Ubigi says its app and website cannot be reached from inside the UAE, and in Turkey several providers' sites are reported blocked. An eSIM that is already on the phone connects on landing in both countries. How to install an eSIM sets out the steps.
1 · Choose the plan by the route. One country means the country plan: $18.50 for 10 GB in the UAE. Two or more of the ten countries means the regional plan at $25. Turkey and Oman are bought separately.
2 · Plan your calls before you land in the UAE. Tell family to expect messages and voice notes, or set up a licensed app such as Botim on both ends. Do not plan on a VPN.
3 · Keep your home SIM active for bank codes. Turn off its data roaming and leave the line on. Do you keep your number and WhatsApp with an eSIM? explains how the two lines sit together.
Nomad eSIM's UAE plan was $18.50 for 10 GB on 6 October 2026, and its regional plan $25 across ten countries. Ubigi's UAE plan page now carries a notice that its app and website cannot be reached from inside the country. Turkey's block on the sites of several travel eSIM companies, in place since July 2025, still applies according to published reports. Nomad eSIM's score on our rubric rose from 74 to 79 on 28 September 2026 after its parent company's security attestations were verified at source. This page no longer describes a VPN as a way round the UAE's calling rules.
For a trip across several countries, Nomad eSIM's regional plan: 10 GB for 30 days cost $25 on 6 October 2026 and covers ten countries, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Israel, Morocco and Tunisia. Airalo's regional plan was about $32 for the same data on eSIMDB's listing. For one country, a country plan costs less: 10 GB for 30 days in the UAE was $18.50 at Nomad eSIM.
Nomad eSIM on price: 10 GB for 30 days cost $18.50 on 6 October 2026, on the du network, with hotspot use allowed. Airalo is the pick for the e& (Etisalat) network with 5G, at about $21 for the same plan on eSIMDB's listing. Whichever you choose, WhatsApp and FaceTime calls are blocked on UAE networks, and an eSIM does not change that.
Nomad eSIM, at $18.50 for 10 GB over 30 days, read on its own page on 6 October 2026. Airalo was about $21 on eSIMDB's listing, Ubigi $21 to $23 on its plan page, MobiMatter $23 and Kolet $27 in the comparison Ubigi publishes. For a short stay, Nomad eSIM's 1 GB for 7 days was $4 and 3 GB for 30 days $8.50.
Nomad eSIM is the only one we read at source: $12 for 3 days, $18 for 5, $27 for 7 and $34 for 10, read on 6 October 2026, with speed reduced to 512 kbps after the daily allowance. Airalo lists unlimited UAE plans of 7 and 10 days, and Holafly sells unlimited plans only; we have not read their UAE prices. No unlimited travel eSIM gives unlimited data at full speed.
No. FaceTime calls are blocked on UAE networks, and a travel eSIM uses those networks, so the block applies to it too. iMessage works. Botim is licensed for calls in the UAE, and Zoom and Microsoft Teams are reported to work. Using a VPN to reach a blocked calling service is treated as an offence under UAE law, so it is not a workaround to plan on.
Yes. WhatsApp text messages, photos, voice notes and group chats work normally on UAE networks, and so do Instagram, X and TikTok. Only WhatsApp voice and video calls are blocked. Voice notes are the simplest substitute for a call.
A UAE country plan of 1 to 3 GB. Nomad eSIM's 1 GB for 7 days was $4 and its 3 GB for 30 days $8.50 on 6 October 2026, enough for the airport, the metro and a day in the city. Buy a regional plan only if the same trip continues to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan or Egypt.
Yes. Turkey's regulator blocked the websites and apps of several travel eSIM companies inside the country in July 2025, according to published reports, so buying or topping up after arrival can fail. An eSIM installed beforehand keeps working. Turkey is not on Nomad eSIM's ten-country regional plan and needs its own plan.
